Two Southland Conference groups declared Tuesday they will confront Texas A&M in future non-meeting matchups.
A&M will open its 2022 season against nearby adversary Sam Houston State and the Aggies will confront McNeese State in 2024. The two games will be played at Kyle Field in College Station.
It will be the thirteenth gathering among A&M and Sam Houston State and the primary matchup since the Bearkats came to Kyle Field in 2013. The Aggies won, 65-28. A&M’s matchup against McNeese will be only the second gathering between the two schools. A&M brought down the Cowboys, 38-24, in 2001.
Since 2010, A&M has played an FCS group each season, with the exception of in 2011. Of those nine gatherings against FCS schools, seven came against individuals from the Southland Conference, including the current year’s down against Lamar. A&M is scheduled to confront the Southland’s Abilene Christian next season.
With A&M including the Bearkats, the Aggies’ 2022 record is finished. Each of the four of A&M’s non-meeting games will be at home, highlighting tilts against Appalachian State, Miami (Fla.) and UMass.
A&M’s matchup in 2022 against UMass was reported last Thursday. Including Sam Houston State gives the Aggies seven home games that season. In SEC play, the Aggies are planned to confront Florida, LSU and Ole Miss at home. Street games allied activity incorporate Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and South Carolina. A&M will be the assigned home group in its game against Arkansas at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
There are as yet several missing pieces to the Aggies’ 2024 record, regardless of including McNeese State.
A&M will open its 2024 battle with a home session against Notre Dame in the main leg of a home-and-home arrangement. The Cowboys are the Aggies’ second declared non-meeting adversary that season. In SEC activity, the Aggies will have LSU, Ole Miss, and just because, Georgia. A&M has street games booked against Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and South Carolina that year.
A&M’s matchup against Arkansas in 2024 will be the last gathering between the two schools at AT&T Stadium in Arlington under the present agreement. With the Aggies being the assigned home group that season, A&M will probably plan two more non-gathering games at home to give the Aggies seven games at Kyle Field.
Visits to Rice in 2022 and Texas A&M in 2024 just as a home-and-home with Youngstown State features future games for the McNeese Cowboy football crew, which were reported by the athletic office on Friday.
What’s more, McNeese will play Alcorn in another home-and-home arrangement – facilitating the Braves in 2022 while restoring the outing in 2023.

In 2021, McNeese will have West Florida and will make a trip to LSU and Youngstown State and in 2022, will visit Rice and will have Alcorn.
Southland Conference programs McNeese and Sam Houston State reported future games with a similar two FBS programs on Tuesday.
Additionally, McNeese set a home-and-home arrangement with Youngstown State of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Cowboys will play in Ohio on Sept. 18, 2021, and have in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Sept. 14, 2024.
